Storms knocked out a bridge inside the cemetery over 2 years ago and it's still not fixed. The rock walls around the perimeter are crumbling and not being repaired. My parents chose this location in the 60's to be their final resting place and now that they are there, so sad it's not being maintained.
The history of this place is worth the review. It was a park in the 1880s. There are also two Chapels in this cemetery. The Celtic crosses are beautiful. Some of the most beautiful views of Independence are in this cemetery.
My Son is buried here along with my parents I really appreciate the care and the upkeep at this beautiful cemetery. The grounds keeper does a wonderful job. Thankyou

Someone vandalized my grandpas headstone... took the bronze base and all... office didn't care, in fact I asked about insurance for a claim for it to be replaced and the guy told me sorry it doesn't cover it..... in the morning I will make a police report .... very very upsetting!!!
