Farmhouse surrounded by shopping malls. The original Truman farm was 600 acres.
This is a little oasis in a busy area. There is an audio tour but the buildings were closed. If they added a few trashcans and picnic tables it would be an excellent park.
Neat place. Whole farm is now a shopping center except for the house and an acre or two around it. Reminds me of Doc Brown's garage in Back to the Future, that way.
A good reminder of the "strong roots" of one of our Nation's great Presidents, Harry Truman!
I liked this pretty place, but I feel like they could do more with it. The sign indicating where it is was confusingly placed. I turned in to a little dead-end street next to it before I got the right street. The parking lot and all the grounds seem to be kept in very good shape. There's an audio tour you can call in to on your cell, which is clever, as otherwise you'd just be looking at some locked up buildings and two explanatory signs.
