Ok so nobody honestly likes going to any DMV... But my most recent visit was exceptionally crappy. I showed up, got my number to wait in line for renewals, and sat there for an hour and only three people had been helped in the renewal line. I don't know if this employee was new or what, but she kept needing assistance from another employee who was busy doing titling (I'm guessing.) So not only was she slowing this employee down, but was also joining in on conversations between several other employees and customers, which had nothing to do with the tasks at hand. Very unprofessional and just plain excruciating to sit through. Believe it or not, I'm a fairly patient person but this experience had me fuming.
Called for registration info. Spoke with Sheryl (spelling), whose level of professionalism and knowledge was staggering. As a result, I know every last item I need, the costs associated, and estimated processing times. The question of requirements for vehicle licensing and registering has to be a very tedious question this department faces, and Sheryl covered it flawlessly and without exasperation. This will be my DMV office of choice as long as she is there.
I haven't been to this DMV in several years. After working at Jackson County for over a decade, I've learned this DMV seems to enjoy giving customers more problems than any other in the area. With that said, I wanted to give this place another shot as I typically go to the DMV in Sugar Creek.
Not a bad place to go. The service really depends on the people being served. Pay attention for your number being called, take all the paperwork you need, don’t get mad at the staff if you are not organized. I sat and watched about 5 people the other day that missed their number being called then got mad when they lost their turn. Pay attention, be prepared and things would run a lot smoother.
After first walking in to renew my license, I walked around, lost as I noticed a sign that read "license renewal" with an arrow like this
They close late at 7 pm on weekdays and they are open Saturday! Good DMV.
