I have been to other Cracker Barrels before and they were excellent. This one is not as good. 7 people were new hires that we could see on the floor based on the rising star insignia on their uniform. The waitress we had played games like keep away and can you catch the straw when I tried to take it from her. She also told poor jokes Everytime she came to the table. I think she thought she was being fun and entertaining but it was actually annoying. The food was dry and not good. Some of the food we ordered was forgotten and not on the same plate as the rest I had to asked for one of my sides included in the meal. It's possible things could get better in time but for now most of the staff are new. I do not recommend this restaurant.
I have been here twice last month and enjoyed every bit of service I received. The food is good, especially the chicken dumplings. Waiters have a star on their apron, showing their role in the hierarchy, from one star being new and 5 stars being a pro. Has an all year round seasonal gift store at the entrance for every holiday. Its a great place to find birthday or Christmas gifts.
Also on a to-go order, offer eating utensils and napkins. Peyton brought me a fork and knife to eat my mashed potatoes with. When I asked for a spoon he said there isn't one.
Not good for large parties.
Dear Cracker Barrel, what were you thinking when you gave the softball team (party of 20) to the brand new server? We sat down at 2:00. Placed our orders at 2:20 and were served our food just after 3:00. Then it took another 30 minutes to get our tickets as we tried to rush back for our next game. Not to mention the problems with needed refills, forgotten sides and splitting the tickets correctly. PS: a party of ten sat down near us and after us but got served LONG before we did. While the actual food here was “fine” I would advise against taking large parties here.
Servers should have a basic idea of what gluten is and what is Gluten-free. And a Gluten-free menu would be fantastic.
Food and service great! It's very family friendly, and our favorite place to take the grandkids. Our picky eater grandson tried the kid's menu shrimp for the 1st time and enjoyed it. He especially loved the shrimp sauce and even dipped his mashed potatoes in it.
